Normally the COE parks clear out Sunday afternoon. We spend alot of time in Texas State parks during the winter. Some we make advance reservations but if I know I am not going to make it I call and tell them as soon as I know so they can release it.

Take up Camp Host volunteering out here in the west...guarantees you a free camping spot with full hookups for 30-90 days and a chance to meet a lot of neat people.
