During my mid-life crisis I had 3 Vettes. A red '63 convertible, a white '66 coupe & a blue '68 convertible, all 327/300hp/4 speeds. Also had 396/350 hp Nova, a Z-28 Camaro/4 sp. & a 5.0 Mustang/5sp. Now in my Golden Years I drive a '94 4 cyl, automatic Camry but I can still dream, can't I ?

My first was a 66 red roadster, 427/4 speed, then I had a 69 427, 68 427, 75 roadster, 66 coupe, 89 coupe. The last 66 coupe turned from a street car into a race car, first a road race car , then into a drag car. Won the national corvette meet at Topeka in 93 on the 2 1/2 mile road course, ("OVERALL FTD", thats fastest time of the day) then held several national drag records in NCCC, (National Council of Corvette clubs, Inc) for the quarter mile from 1994 until 2003 until I retired from racing. Still have the 89 but its for sale! At least I can say I have ran a bunch of race tracks that people only see on TV and had more racing experiences than most/some people would die for. What fun! Now we RV!

HAD an '85 glass topped coupe Z51 with all the bells and whistles - had a potential loss of job looming, and the vette was the most un-needed, so it went to my sister-in-law, who was also a vette fan. Eventually getting another one is high on my wish list - a '93 anniversary edition in original, pristine condition would be hard to pass up!

Had a White '81 a long time ago. Not real fast but fun to drive. A friend at work had a scary fast 70 something convertible Stingray with a 500+ engine, used to stop in Lafayette La. on the way home and cruise with him and hit the drive thru daquiri stands. Now I drive a Suburban and a RV.

I had a red/white 1960 back in '62 thru '66.
Bought it for $1600 sold it for $1400.
That was back in the days of Water Ski Boat, Aircoupe Airplane, Hondas and Harleys.
(Ah, the good old days!)
Often wish I would have kept it, but then realize I would have lost it in the divorce anyway.

We've all been there and what great stories. My vette was a 1969 427/390hp 4 speed, and what a ride it was, and awesome power. My hardest to part with was a 1968 Camaro Rally Sport 4 sp." SPECIAL PERFORMANCE HANDLING PACKAGE", yes that's the way Chevrolet listed the famous "Z-28" ON THE FACTORY INVOICE. It was british racing green with white stripes and black guts. That car would almost make you loose control of yourself. Sad part, an all original car like that with matching #'s today will easily bring $30,000.00 or higher, I get sick everytime I think about it.
Look @ us now, I drive a Taurus sedan and a Buick Regal and a awfully nice motorhome, retired and happy. Just my 2cents worth, hope you enjoy it. Good luck, happy trails & travel safe.
