I sure hope this positive information spreads quickly. Sears needs consumers in their stores. Their sales are way down!

Denny,

I don't drink Starbucks coffee or eat Ben & Jerry's ice cream. I do donate to the USO.

It is great what Sears is doing! As for K-Mart owning Sears, Paz probally seen the same erronious reports by the media as I did. The media now days don't do a whole lot of research to back up there findings, like when there is a disaster they will say theres 20 dead, then 15, then 5, then only injuries. How do you go from 20 to none? Our soldiers are doing a great job over there, just wished the press could get by their bias and report it.

The news media never lets the truth get in the way of their political agenda.

In the USA, newspapers mostly reflect the views of their owners.

That's one reason I don't buy them. I'm not paying to help support their viewpoint, which is usually opposed to mine.

Speaking of support for our military,
I recently recieved a E mail stating that Starbucks turned down a US Marine's request for sending some coffee to the troops in Irak . The reason given was that Starbucks does not support either the war or the troops. I can understand perhaps not supporting the war but it is beyond my comprehension why anyone would not support our men and women who serve. I am wondering if the E-mail is fiction or was based on reality?

The Starbucks rumor is false.

Details HERE.

Almost every email notice of someone's controversial position or some company's policy should be suspect.

Most all of these can be verified by going to one of several rumor/urban legend web sites.

Route 66,
Thanks for clearing that up. The internet is a great communications tool but , as in this case and many others, abuse is rampant. One never knows what is true and what is the fantasy of some feeble mind. Thanks again. I can now drink $3.00 a cup Starbucks with peace of mind...or maby I should go to MaCdonalds senior citizens coffee for 50 cents?

Codger,

Price aside, I prefer the MacDonald's coffee. It tastes really good and I don't particularly care for Starbucks.

I bought a $1.65 Grande brewed coffee (my own cup) in Starbucks today (Susanville, CA) and they have a drive on at this very moment that invites customers to buy a pound of coffee to be sent to our military folks in Iraq.

Whether or not they support the war, they support the troups, and that is the important part of this drive.
