Having to "pull the plug" is never an easy decision, no matter the circumstances. My wife is a nurse and she deals with this all the time, not personally of course. She says the bigger heartache is selfish family members who DO NOT pull the plug as they're keeping them alive for themselves; because THEY cannot handle the pain.

Certainly none of us wants to lose a loved one, but we have to consider that person's sufferage. Atleast we know that when we do this we're doing them the favor of releasing their pain, and what greater gift can there be?

You beloved baby brother is with the lord now and is at peace for all eternity. He was welcomed by predeceased family and friends who were there to greet him, and most importantly he now walks with Jesus. It was time for him to pack up his tools, tidy up his desk, and go home.

Rather than suffer the heartache of his passing, celebrate his life the times you had with him while he was here on this portion of his journey home. Take comfort in knowing that even the simple things he did here changed someone's life somewhere, and for the better.

When it is your time to cross the mountain he'll be there waiting to greet you and help you pass over, the same way he was greeted on his day.

May the peace and glory and everlasting light of our lord be with you and with him.

Our prayers are with you. Sorry for your loss. Hope this helps:

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side
spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and
starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty
and strength, and I stand and watch until at last
she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where
the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, ‘There she goes!’
Gone where?
Gone from my sight … that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
‘There she goes!’ there are other eyes watching her
coming and their voices ready to take up the glad shouts
‘Here she comes!’

It is impossible to be absent from one place,
and not present in another.

You have our prayers and may The Good Lord bless you and keep you safe in your life and in your travels. I am truly sorry to hear about your baby brother, I know it would suck if I had to do that one of my brothers. Condolences to your family.

My words can not possibly console you, only God's time will.
While we all will go through that door,
our daily 'urgent task' seem to get in the way of what should be more important !

I trust he is comfortable now, I trust that he is in a loving place now, and I KNOW that those that responded thus far have given me warmth with their words.

We too had a very rough year as both mothers and fathers and two uncles are resting now... Thank you for sharing with us, it shows a trust in us... Bless you...

My condolences for your loss. I know how you feel. My Dad died this past January 11th. I have been helping my Mom cope and I'm also executor. Everyone needs prayers and can use them. I have to go in for eye surgery in April and, so, not looking forward to that. Hang in there, things always seem to work out....
