Looks like I'll get a bunch bolts, nuts, washers and a few chunks of rubber to keep for my next blowuut. Much cheaper than a new tire

I wonder if it's the same guy who does this to break the bead on his motorcycle tires

Might hold for a while on a low pressure tractor tire, but I wouldn't want to drive on the highway with that!

I heard a story said to be true, of a guy that was out Moose hunting in northern BC. He had a flat on his truck and the spare was also flat and he was a long way out from help. He took the wheel off and filled the tire with water and let it freeze overnight. Installed the wheel the next morning and drove to town. It was -20 and colder. That seems to fit with the first picture. We may laugh but it probably worked for them.

As someone with a private pilot license I'm usually interested in stories about aircraft. My Canadian satellite system used to have a regular aviation program several years ago. One episode interviewed an old bush pilot who used to fly supplies in the dead of winter to some northern camps. This was back in the '30s. The guy used a biplane with fabric covered wings. One winter day he landed at a camp and a branch tore a large rip in a lower wing. The aircraft was unflyable. Undaunted he obtained a sheet at the camp and put it in a pot of boiling water. He then raced outside and quickly wrapped the sheet around the wing. It froze in place in a few seconds and he flew the plane back to base like that.

Actually it's pretty genius when you think about it. If you are stuck out in the middle of nowhere, the ability to do this just might save your life. I SERIOUSLY doubt anyone is driving this on a paved road.

I liked the tennis shoe bicycle wheels.. Some of those were rather good.

Some of them are not that odd. Like the semi with the small box.

Might have been the driver's dirty laundry as he dead-headed back home.
