I think I may be done

Eight summer seasons, two snowbird escapades, and as I type this I have no desire to get back out on the road.

Maybe I have ADHD, but I cannot stay interested in anything long term. I知 like a crow, see something shiny and I have to check it out.

In this heat wave we池e having, I would typically be scouting weather reports looking for someplace to go to escape. Instead, I知 sitting here waiting for the sun to come out so I can go spend my day at our pool.

I recently fully retired. What I thought I wanted to do has changed.

Happy 4th, everyone!

And, there's nothing wrong with that. At this stage (or age) we need to do what we want, if possible. After a break, you may decide to get back out on the road, but if not, that's okay, too. Enjoy whatever you decide to do.

We get certain things "out of our system"...we've taken 3 or 4 cross country trips and taken our time over 2-3 months and put on thousands of miles. Wouldn't trade those experiences for anything but now finding staying closer to home (300 mile range) is better. Glad we kept S+B and resisted the urge to transition into FT, something on radar as so many are doing it. When I bought the RV, I had a hunch we might stick closer to home in the long run, and there are still local areas we enjoy camping in enough to keep the RV. Each to his own, nothing wrong with trying different approaches, it is not a "one size fits all".

It all good! You are the master (unless you are married ) to chart your own course. The beauty of it all is that you can change your mind, goals and ambitions.

Carry on!

There is no right or wrong, just what is right for you. If you are happy then your time here on earth will be longer than if not happy at what you are doing.
Each to his own. La Chiam (to life!)

I'm in my 7th RV'ing season right now. I enjoy it but the expense is a factor as well as maybe I should sell it and try something new. As the Isley Brothers said, it's your thing. Do what you want to do.

No right or wrong, just do what fits you. That's what I'm trying to figure out now.

Sometimes we can get so involved in things that we just get burned out. Maybe you should just lay back and take it easy for awhile and you may find you'll get the itch again!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

If the backyard and pool beckon now, then that's what you need to enjoy.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to part ways with the RV though as your backyard may get too confining. I have been, with my wife, doing the RV 'thing' since about 1970 though for one reason or another did take a few odd years to do other things, never selling the current RV. We have always returned to the RV way after those 'interludes'.

I ask my wife what I want to do. I've been known to drive to a higher elevation (mountains of northern New Mexico).

Like a Crow?

I resemble that remark. Nothing wrong with checking out bright, shiny things....

If RV'n doesnt hold your same ol' interest, sell it and get a bass boat, maybe a pontoon boat. Putt a few hundred feet offshore and toss out the anchor. Be home by dinner time.
