Seajay,
I want to relay to you something that was said to me one day. I was in my back yard, bending over, and then I stood up. I expelled a breath of air, and my son said, "Dad, you are out of shape."

Now when someone says to you, "CJ, You are out of shape," you just reply:

"Round is a shape!"

You should try the scotch tape method. Whenever you go out to eat food and you are asked if you want desert, ask if it comes with Scotch Tape. If it doesn't, don't order it. If it does, you can just tape the food where you want it to appear as if you had eaten.

Send no money son! Just add it to your IOU to me.

To be fair, I find it is the News on TV that prompts the eyelids to close, not so much the food. Then, when I go to bed, I lie awake thinking of all the troubles in the world and how so much of it is my fault...

"In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is."

I have written this down and I am gonna think about it for a while and when I can think of something to respond, I am gonna respond......maybe....
I will say that it is probably TRUE, unless of course it is FALSE, possibly, maybe,

Does anybody except me realize that this fella is in New Zealand?

I know where ''it'' is and it aint close to New Jersey, or New Brunswick, or New Hampshire, or New York, or New England or any other ''New'' that I know of. How many ''sheep'' you got in your back yard Graham and is it ''yesterday or tomorrow'' over there right now?

God bless our vets for their service to this country....... Keep them safe...

It is almost always tomorrow over here, we are nearly 21 hours ahead of you guys in Los Angeles, and 18 hours ahead of New York. For those who don't know where we are, we are just West of the international date line, and about 43 degrees South of the equator. Paradise!

I know where you are. I have been all around you but never to you. Perth, Sidney, Melborne, and Hobart. Tried to get orders to Christchurch. But the Navy said no.

We have a big Deep Freeze base here in Christchurch - it is where all supplies and all trips to the Antarctic start and finish. (Well almost all) I would love to visit that far South someday, but I do like warmth.

"In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is."

I, Seajay the sailor man, after much thought and research, (and about half a fifth of good vodka) have found the key to the above statement and the subliminal meaning and explanation of same and the next time you see me, if you will give me ten cents, I will explain exactly what the hidden meaning is for the above statement. (but them I may have to kill you of course....)

Happy Holidays......
God bless our troops ......

Seajay, I e-mailed your ten cents and will be (not so) patiently waiting for your explanation. You may try to kill me but be advised I am very adept at hiding for long periods of time....
Thank you in advance.

"In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is."

Ok, I have thought about this and I have figured out exactly what it means and I shall try to explain this in small words and I will type slow so Wayne the Marine, and other Marines reading this can follow along.....

One. Theory is when you ''thing something is a true fact or maybe not, or it could be just a bad idea like a life preserver made from concrete.'' ''This is a THEORY'' and requires further research and more thought, but you have not looked on Google to see if ''Theory'' is really real because it may not be really real kinda like a ''dream'' of something you dream about like after eating a pizza and drinkin a couple of six packs of Blatz beer with anchovies on it. (the Pizza, not the beer).... This is what a ''Theory'' is and how it should be viewed without the Pizza or the beer or the anchovies on it. (the Pizza, not the beer)
Stated simply for the Marines. ''Theory is un proven stuff'' or it could be a ''S.W.A.G.''.... (swingin wild a$$ guess).

Two. Practice... ''Practice'' is when you kinda rehearse at doing something really hard like for the Marines , marching all in the same direction with the same foot hitting the ground at the same time. (this is why Marines march so much) ''Practice'', ''Practice'', ''Practice'' (learning which foot is the left foot and stuff like that) And this is why the D.I. Keeps saying ''Yo' Leff, Yo' Leff, Yo, Leff, rite Leff''. You will also notice that Marines have their left boot painted red for the ''Practice of marching together''. (lotta people dont know that) This is where ''Theory'' (unproven stuff) and ''Practice'' (doin stuff over and over to learn how to do it) are kinda alike but maybe not because sometimes the Marines will put the wrong foot down or get lost on a one way street sometimes and if the D.I. Sneezes or says an ugly word starting with ''S'' everyone squats and drops their laundry. (is everyone following this?)

Three. Now this is the hard part so pay attention. If you ''Practice'' something for a long time and you get to where you can really do it good (like Marines marchin') it is no longer ''PRACTICE'' … It is something you have ''Learned'' and ''learned'' is different than ''Theory'' because it is a proven thingie because you can do it without thinkin' much or falling down often or goin' the wrong way or using the wrong foot (not the red booted one) and knowin' that when the D.I. Says the ''S'' word he aint talkin' to you.....
But if you really think about the two words they are kinda of similar but they are spelled different and dont really mean the same thing, sort of, but they could if you dont understand one of them.

This is your explanation of the above statement and I hope everyone understands now.

Hope this helps, Now I will have to kill you, Nothin personal, its just the rules

If you still have a question feel free to send ten cents to Seajay the Sailor man for answers ....... Dumb looks are still free...

Lets all thank a Vet for our freedom........
