I'm starting to RUST

We are sitting along the Oregon Coast just east of Lincoln City.
This morning the Weather man said it was the 29th straight days of rain.
I went outside to run to the trash and as I was comming back I looked under the RV and there must have been a dozen rabbits all hunkered down trying to stay out of the rain and stay warm.
I have to go to the store ASAP before Rita finds the carrots missing.

Guess Oregon is part of the Wet coast. We live On Souther Vancouver island and I always tell people we only get a few showers during the winter, 1 from Oct - Dec and Jan-Apr. Be positive theres better weather ahead, hopefully before April.

I moved to the wet coast to get away from prairie winters. The grey and wet is getting us down but I will take it over -40 and shoveling snow. I tell my prairie friends I don't know if my diesel has a block heater, I have never bothered to look for it.

As they say in this part of the world "Those aren't freckles, they're rust spots."

It hasn't been too bad in Anacortes through December as far as rain is concerned, but the winds have been very strong. Most days it's been 30 knots or more and several times we've had sustained 50 knots with gusts to 70. Even the dry days have mainly been dull grey, and we've had a lot of morning fog.

We get some of the same Olympic Mountains' rain shadow effect that keeps Sequim so dry. We average about 20" a year compared to Seattle's 35 or so.

South and west a few hundred miles, there is probably a lot of sun. Motorhomes do move if you want

Weather man says 2012 is the 4th highest rainfall year on record for the Portland Oregon area.

Brings back memories when the wife and I lived in Lincoln City and commuted to Salem each day for work. We did that for 3 years and wore out ourselves and almost a brand new car! What a variety of weather we had....sheesh! But when the sun comes out on the Oregon coast it's fabulous. There's always the casino and a nice little mall to spend a little time and money in. LOL

Suspect he is at Neskowin Creek RV (bunny capitol of the Oregon coast). As a native we would call that North but then again it is off the ocean so it is East of Lincoln City.

Are you at the Lincoln City KOA, Larry? We stayed there one night in October 2011. It was raining. windy and cold. The CG was quite pleasant.

The Portland TV weather guy said it would be like that for another 4 days, so we abandoned the rest of our itinerary to Astoria and headed for home.

If you continue south, there are some awesome places to see. We started our coastal trip at Cape Blanco, south of Bandon. I think heading south on 101 into California would be a good move. By the time you get to SF, at least the rain should be warmer!

We've been as far as Big Sur/Monterey, but many years ago with a rented TT.
