Down to just 8 working days left before we head to South Haven, MI for a week of camping with my wife's family. Second year in a row we've gone there - really nice area for hanging out, seeing the sites, relaxing.

We did go ahead and make reservations for two more trips:
1. Long weekend end of July - heading to Lake Shelbyville area in Illinois for a Fri-Mon trip. Staying at Wolf Creek State Park - close to the lake, has a beach, lots of trails, and on the edge of Amish Country ChallengerRN mentioned above. Should be plenty to do, AND we get an IL sticker on our travel map!

2. Got one of the last 4 full hookup sites at Prophetstown for Purdue homecoming weekend. Since it coincides with fall break in Noblesville, going to do a 4-night stay. Two will be with just me and the girls, then my wife will join for the weekend once she's off work. I'm sure the football game will be disappointing, but should be a fun weekend overall!

Take care y'all.

What weekend is that Pete.

Prophets Town is so popular you have to make a reservation 6 months to the date to get what you want.......

We will be looking at going to The Covered Bridge Fest this year with an RV club we are members of.

It runs from the 14h thru the 23rd of October, not sure what weekend they will go.

I don't think you can jump the subject on this thread! Seems that it comes and goes as different questions arise.

Despite my recent posts, it is NOT all about the stickers!!! LOL!

I agree - we are blessed with a lot of great camping right here in our own state. Have camped at all that you've listed except Clifty Falls and we did stay there in the lodge once a few years back.
We also like McCormicks Creek with its scenery and living history museum, Mississinewa for its beach and relaxed atmosphere, Potato Creek for seeing nature, etc, etc ,etc. I guess we're kind of addicted!

We have stated in the RV park in town Bridgeton for the whole festival each year since 2007. Decided this year not to go back and camp. Will be taking our coach to Florida early my guess.

There might be some spaces in that park. Most are venders. Really not sure what will happen with the Willow Rose park in downtown Bridgeton. The owner died suddenly this spring with a heart attach??

Anyone that might want info on that park can PM me.

The fair grounds be better for a group. Lots more space there.

Just curious, has anyone camped at Hoosier National Forest? We are heading that way this coming Friday and are staying 10 days. We've never been there so it will be a new experience for us! The DW and I are getting REALLY excited about it the closer it gets! I think the place we are going is called Tip saw lake loop. Friday just can't get here fast enough :-)

We have never stayed in the Hoosier National Forest but have friends that have stayed at Hardin Ridge along US 50 east ot Seymour I believe and love it! Large sites, lots of trees, and quiet. Hope your experience farther south is as rewarding...........enjoy!

Happy 4th of July everyone....

Haven't stayed at any, but have driven through several. They all appear to be infrequently used, spacious, quiet, and shady. Facilities are primitive but generally in good repair.
Hope that is helpful to you and please let us know your experience after your visit.
Pete

Hardin Ridge (north half of Hoosier National) is excellent. Restrooms and showers well maintained and the sites are spacious. I have no reason to think Tipsaw (southern half of Hoosier National) is any different.

I do wish they would stay open later in the year. I'd like to try camping there very late in the year.
