Fall SW Trip From Indy

Just returned from our trip from Indy to the SW 4 corners area and back. Perfect trip. Great weather, no RV issues, great scenery, and of course, great company with just the DW and pets. Here is a few pics from our camp site in Goosenecks State Park in southern Utah.

We love Prophetstown.

Wanted to go there this month but thought leaf colors would be better in "that state up north". There's a 5-r a few sites down from us from IN & they thought the same thing. Not really...peak seems to be a week+ away yet here. @Markin Glen, MI

Tempting with this warm spell to get out to a campsite.

Spent two weeks on the road over Christmas. Stayed at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach (right on a beach front spot) then a stop at Skidaway State Park at Savannah GA. Finally 7 nights at Jetty Park at Cocoa Beach FL. On the way home made a stop in GA and TN. Both were state parks.

Happy belated New Year everyone.......

I hope everyone's Christmas and holiday season was the best !

Tom & Patty, thanks for the update of your travels.......you shoulda gone a little farther south tho for the real "Heat!!" LOL

We have become "Snow Birds" and are in SW Florida.

I never thought I'd ever get old enough to "winter" in Florida.......welll.....guess what.......time has a way of sneaking up on you!

Angle and I are enjoying our new coach as well as the mild weather. We spend the New Year holiday with friends up in Tampa - it was cold!!! One morning it was 36 in Tampa and 39 in Brownsburg. Shameful......Hahahahaha.

I keep in touch with our house sitter and they just went through the January "Deep Freeze". Looks like weather in The Burg is turning mild. Hope so.....

Take care everyone..........be well, keep in touch.

HA! It's never ending.

Wish we were w/some of you in the warm south. Just came out of several days with temps in the teens. Today it's in the mid-50's! Ah, midwest winter.

Planning my summer vacations & definitely have an IN trip planned. Just trying to figure out where. Been to all 4 corners, east & central, so trying to find someplace new. Might try something west side & include a pop-over to IL. If I settle on something, will let you folks know & maybe we can see some of you all.

Stay warm~

How did you find Jetty Park?? Our winter home is in Titusville Fl. and we have visited Port Canaveral and we have wondered about that RV park. How was your stay there? We have thought about maybe going there for a change of scenery sometime and to watch the cruise ships.

NLOVNIT,
Check out Raccoon Lake or Turkey Run. Both are in the west-central portion of the state. Beautiful areas and nice campgrounds for state parks. And just a short hop on over into IL from either one.

Things are well for us so far in 2017. Just made reservations for a week at Wilderness Campground in Branson (right next to Silver Dollar City) in July. No other trips planned yet. . .

We will have a new experience this camping season - we have a new Cockapoo puppy on the way in a few weeks. First non-fish pet for this household, so we will see how it goes.

Fighting the itch to look at a Class A with bunks. Been one on Craigslist for a few months now, just can't get the nerve up to call on it. My figures show that we could sell the TT and F250, and buy the Class A + a small, economical TOAD and not have to spend a ton more $$, but I just don't know. Probably will wait another year or two.

I am going to go ahead and get a slide topper for my LR slide. If not perfectly level, we tend to get rain water coming inside which is annoying at the least. Can't seem to fix it adjusting the slide seals so I hope the topper will do the trick.

Hello Lori,

Western Indiana is a neat part of the state.

I looked up on RV Park Reviews .com some of the the parks on the west side of the state, they are below. The state parks in west central Indeeanner do not have full hook ups. Not sure that is a factor for you...

I also sent you a review for the New Vision camp ground, which is just north of Vincennes on route 41. It is literally on the Illinois line and Vincennes has some history attached to it and a bridge over the Wabash. We have stayed at New Vision camp ground and it is noting special - a place to park, go sightsee, and relax. I don't remember the train being an issue but it can't be anything worse than Glamarama....

New Vision Camp Ground, Vincennes area:
New Vision RV Park, LLC - Oaktown, IN - RV Park Reviews

Hardin Lake - Racoon:
Cecil M. Harden Lake (Raccoon SRA) - Rockville, IN - RV Park Reviews

Turkey Run State Park:
Turkey Run State Park - Marshall, IN - RV Park Reviews

I believe planning is half the fun of a trip!!

Take care everyone, stay safe....
