Tom & Pat - do you generally just get a water & elect site? Full hook-up sites seem to be far and few and I would imagine seasonal campers get those. Any of those w&e sites have 50amp do you know?

Let's get something together.

How about others on here?

g
At Cornerstone we get water and electric. The park has an abundance of trees so the shade is heavy, so we use 30 Amp.

Here is what is available at Cornerstone both for the 5th-7th and 12th-14th of June.
FHU 50 amp $45
FHU 30 amp $40
W/E 30 amp $30

Cornerstone Campground - New Castle, Indiana

Sites available both weeks are: 1,2,4,5,6A,17,18,21,21,22, and 23. Sites are all gravel with grass. Eleven total sites, I imagine more if necessary. We have use of a building if needed Saturday night for a dinner. We have done a bring your own entree to cook on site plus bring a pot luck dish. We have a Weber Baby Q but might need one more grill. Suggestions?

Mini Golf is $2, and paddle boat or kayak rental is $5/hour.

Across the freeway is the New Castle Motorsports Park New Castle Motorsports Park / New Castle Raceway / Kart Racing Track, East of Indianapolis, IN has carts for rent and a great track. Cost is $20 for 10 minutes with a $5 coupon from Cornerstone. You can rent a cart for $60 for an hour...can be broken up in 4-15 min sessions or 3-30 min sessions.
(This could be FUN)
I have thrown this together, usually the rallies we held in CA were in the planning stages for 6-9 months, so it would be pretty laid back.

We have a few interested, anyone else?

Either weekend is good for us............I think I like site 17 - close to the dog walk! LOL.

I am going to check with some people we camp also, if that's ok?

The more the merrier! Sounds like we would still be there before the crowds.

Fallen Rock RV Parke & Campground

Hello Campers...........

Being a "Planner-From-H_ll", I get great enjoyment from planning trips. Easy now that I have an iPad !!!! LOL

I use to plan ocean cruises, then we got totally tired of cruising, it became very routine - might be hard for some to believe, but it's true - we cruised multiple times per year - met soooo many great people - saw so many great places - I used to say as we cruised, time to get off the ships and see America.

We're off - bought the Glamper - and ready to go.

But - I still love to plan.................on doing so, I came across Fallen Rock RV Parke and Campground, located in Brazil, IN.

To this planner's chagrin - I cannot find much on the line of reviews............nothing on the RV Park Review web site - only a Yelp entry - a good one.

Here is their web site:

Fallen Rock RV Park & Campground Brazil, IN

They also have a Facebook page.

Anyone have experience with this park(e)? Looks interesting and suprised there are no reviews on RV Park Review web site. Perhaps there are more seasonal than daily campers?

Tom - Patty - ever been there?

Have a great Sunday.

Glenn

Glenn,

Never been there. Thought we might have seen it when we stayed at Racoon, but we went west to Rockville. It is in RV Park Reviews under Falling Rock.

Thanks - not sure about our big rigs - concrete bridge? Yikes!

Here is another: New Vision RV Park, LLC

Looks like a neat park - simple - I do not need pools, etc., I want to relax. Try my hand at camp-fire cooking.

This one gets good reviews on RV Park Reviews. Cheap too, looks like 50amp pull throughs for state park prices.

Good thing about Angie &smell is we can go on a Monday or Tuesday for a night to check it out and maybe go back with our working class friends!!LOL

I like the primitive locations but tent camping only. Looks very nice.

Well, no one had posted lately and this thread had moved to page 2 on "Just Conversations"

Sooo, just wondering what everyone is up to? We got back from 2 weeks in NC, Kind of a mini Vacation compliments of Ken's work. He had his first look at the Smokies and the DP was a champ going through. Next up will be Memorial Weekend. We both can't wait until he retires in roughly 7 months then we are free to go when and where we want.

So, to repeat myself, what has everyone else been doing?

We got away down to Gatlinburg, well really Cosby just east of Gatlinburg. Joined the daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren for a week. I had to work every day but evenings were free. Wow the price of diesel was truly appreciated, as low as $2.64. Only 33 cents a mile instead of 50 cents! Stopped at Cumberland Falls on the way back. Went through Louisville on the way down and Cincinnati on the way back. Just a few miles more but I-74 is so much easier on the coach than I-65.
Now that we are back and my taxes are done I am going to set a date for Cornerstone in June. I'll post it here. Glenn has already said he was open. If anyone has another location let me know.

Hello fellow Hoosiers! We have just returned from Florida and about 60 miles from home I got the dreaded "Check Engine" light.
I was just wondering if some of you local to the Indy area could share who you have used for diesel service in this area.
We have a Cat C9 engine. Has anyone use McAllister Cat?? Any feedback at all??

Thanks ,
Dan

Have to agree with you on the difference of I65 and I74 we took 74 both to and from NC. Just curious, I65 in Louisville, they still working on the road in the middle of Louisville? We're headed down this weekend to the Bowling Green with friends in probably 20+ cars. Curious about construction. Know about around Elizabethtown.. Any heads up greatly appreciated. BTW, "Big Dog" is gorgeous!

<<<<
Dan, can't help you on the diesel prob. Haven't had ours long enough for any engine issues. <knock on wood>

Thunder Over Louisville is this Saturday and traffic will probably be a nightmare. One of the local traffic bridges into downtown is closed for staging and that traffic will use I65 as well. The earlier the better if you're coming through Louisville on Sat.

I would stay away from the Freightliner dealer/service center on the south side of town........

PM me if you would like more details.

Good luck,

Glenn
