We're gong to be down on the Buffalo River in Arkansas for two weeks, returning to IN on June 17th. We sure hate missing a chance to meet everyone, but hope you all have a great time!

Be Safe!

Hey Dakrism! did you ever find a place to work on your rig for you? I use Truck Service, Inc down on west Morris street. Love those guys!

Yes I found a guy in Marion that has all the Cat testing software and knows Caterpillar engines . His shop is called KJR Power and he does a lot of fleet work and consults with other mechanics . He will most likely become my go to guy for engine work. He was very reasonable and doesn't mind working on motorhomes.I hope he has solved my check engine lite. McAlister Caterpillar has been a real disappointment to me and said I needed a new turbocharger to the tune of around $10000.They could not even get the engine to do a manual regeneration in their shop!
Ken at KJR was able to force a regeneration and diagnose the problem with the sensors. He put a new ARD head and sparkplug on the afterburner and cleaned out the burn chamber. The parts he replaced cost $700 and he did not mark them up. The parts came from Caterpillar in Ft Wayne. He had the old parts there and I could see the work that was done. He charged me $1000.
He is moving into a newer and larger facility in Marion In. soon and since we are in Cicero it is only an hour drive for us. I will most likely go back with any other problems. I hope we have solved the regeneration situation.

Fellow Hoosiers, making some plans for next year, and hoping you have some recommendations for campgrounds in the Lake Tippecanoe / Wawasee area......

Thanks!

Patoka

Headed to Patoka this weekend, May 29th - 31st. We will be in site 314 Saturday for sure and most likely Friday night. (Made reservations too late to get Friday online).
Same spot we had earlier this spring. Lots of pavement for Patty so as not to injure her new bionic hip!

Patoka Lake

Another nice weekend at Patoka Lake State Park. We were back in site 314 so Patty would have lots of pavement to navigate. We had some rain and later a pretty sky.
I think this state park is becoming one of our favorites.

Drive through Shakamak State Park to see if we would want to stay there. I posted in campground reviews. http://www.irv2.com/campgrounds/show...ct=1769&cat=15 Here are a few pics of typical campsites.

I don't know where everyone is! We don't know that area well.

You might try posting this in the Regional forum under North Central Region. I think you will have good luck there.

Travel safe.

There are very few campgrounds near Tippy or Wawasee lakes. You could stay west of there at Hoffman Lake Campground in Warsaw, or, north to Eby Pines Campground. The closest state park to there would be Chain O Lakes State Park in Albion, but depending on the size of your rig, those sites are a bit small, and usually back in sites. There is also a small campground right in Warsaw on Pike Lake. It's very pretty, overlooks the small lake, but if you are wanting a lot of amenities for an extended stay, this may not be your best choice.

Enjoy northern Indiana--it's a beautiful part of the state. Ironically, we are headed, permanently, to Georgia, next spring!

I have some old friends in Churubusco and North Webster, so looking for something in the area to stay for just a few days early mid Sept. next year. This is the tail end of a 3-4 month trip, that will include 3-4 weeks In MI.

So far, what I have been able to find are:

Circle B RV park in Angola
Yogi Bear in Pierceton
Shipshewana Campground South in Shipshewana

None of them seems to standout. Yogi is closest, the other 2 have slightly better GS ratings.

I'll take a look at the ones suggested by Mitch and Cathy too.

Mitch and Cathy, an early welcome to GA. It does get a bit warm here in the summer, so we got our MH so we could head north in the summer and keep our home base here, at least for a while.

Thanks!
