Into the past

These pics were taken from color slides found at the Library of Congress. They are dated between 1939-1943.
The pictures are so clear and the color is so vibrant, it looks as though they were taken just yesterday. Wonderful look into

the past!

Great Pictures of the past. I can almost see my Grandfather working at Lockheed in Burbank California, 1942 on P-38 Fighters during the war. The story past down by my Mother and Grandmother.

I think the reason the color is so good is because they have been recolored like they are doing with WW2 pictures and movies

That's amazing!
When you make it to the bottom, there are links at a half dozen other pages. I'm about halfway thru the pacific theater in WW2

And to think all those kids were at least 5 years older than my mom at the time they were taken, yikes! Great preservation of the past.
