I just now installed the Android iRV2 application on my smart phone.
FWI, the phone is a Samsung Galaxy 2 Fantastic (Verizon)

There is a huge problem with that app that needs to be fixed.

Font sizing.....

Absolutely no way to change it that I can find.

Pinch and Spread? Nope, don't work.

Menu/Settings/Fonts? Nope, don't exist

Menu/Profile/fonts? Nope, don't exist

At this point the app is totally useless. It would take a microscope to read the screen on the phone, and that is with my reading glasses that focus at 14 inches.

Any solutions?

I understand your dilemma. Have the Galaxy S with IRV2 app. With my bifocals, I'm am able to read the posts (but barely).

Under the settings-display-font style, I have the choice of 4 different fonts. The default seems to be the largest.

The only "solution" I can think of is to select "get fonts online" and look for an app that includes a larger font. I believe there are a lot of font apps. Only downside is that once you install a new font and select it (so that you can read IRV2), I think that will become your font for all matters on the phone. So choose wisely.

Does the APP have the developers contact info? Have you contacted Verizon to see anyone can or will help? Is there an Android forum site?

The app has a very readable font size on my Droid X.

I can't adjust it either, but there is no need to.

went to the Android Market again, only has 12 reviews, none of which are viewable. Including the new one I left for the app.

I guess if he don't like what he sees, he deletes the reviews.

Went to the Contact Us link and the font size for their input text box is just as small as what the phone has on it. Someone there is doing all of their editing on a 320x240 screen display, or even smaller.

Readable on our Droid X although pinch and spread does not work with the IRV2 app. A few reasons we went with the Droid X were no fixed keyboard which gives us a larger screen and the ability to turn 90 degrees and have a wider screen. Never thought we would ever leave the basic flip phone but after going to the Droid X we would never go back.

What y'all need is an IPhone. No special app needed. Works like a charm.

The app works great with my HTC EVO. But then the EVO also has a large display, like the Droid X.

I don't believe that the developer has deleted any "reviews". There are 12 "ratings" currently, but the only "review" is the one I just left.

Yeah yeah yeah

The Galaxy S models have no keyboard either, nice wide and long screen almost to the edges. I chose it for the larger screen area and better pricing than the iPhone. Mine was "totally free" of charges period, Verizon sent me an email saying that I could get one free because I have 5 phones and a long service history with them. The iPhone was not amongst those offered for free

My review never showed up, don't know why. And those same 12 rankings were there when I first saw the app. That never seems to change either.

have not had a reply from the "Contact Us" developers page either. So, guess there is not interest from them in the app anymore.

I'll pass on your feedback to the App developer but can't make any promises.

Please keep in mind this App is provided for FREE to access a FREE website. You might want to consider configuring your browser to use large fonts and then viewing the sites with through the browser.

The app for my iPad works great. I'd be on it now, but it is downloading an upgrade.

I do realize that apps provided for free will have minimal heavy tech support.

I just thought that since it is providing a text display of a service that is heavy into text output, that an option to change the fonts should be provided.

I will refer to the Aldiko freebook reader as an example. The standard default font in the reader is about 8 points. But, there is an option to choose a different default font which I would judge to be the equivalent of 18 points, maybe more. It also offers an option to lock it in landscape mode which I did. Makes a very comfortable book reader and I enjoy it a lot.

If the iRV2 app does not get around to offering font sizes, I will just stick with Firefox and use their Pinch & Spread feature. However, FF is not nearly as handy to use for reading forums as a special app is.

I will most likely just wait until I can access a laptop or desktop to read iRV2, my young eyes don't focus up close like they did 65 years ago.

With Firefox or other browser, you just hit Control-'+' as many times as you like until the font is as big as you want.
