California is again reneging on paying for power they purchased from BC Hydro. In fact they want to go to court claiming BC was price gouging. They owe 100 million and now we will have to make up the shortfall. There's only 4 million of us in the province. Now our costs will go sky high.

Its not a monopoly, its provincially owned resource provider. Big difference.

Yes BC Hydro is a Crown Corporation.
What is your option for purchasing electricity?

Simple solution, quit selling California power.

The state came to BC looking for power, we complied and now they are about to reneg yet again. No wonder so many in BC have bad feelings about the states. just because you are bigger doesn't make you right!

I read it right, and I saw that. I also read the Globe and Mail article, the Vancouver Sun article, the Global BC commentary (which states: The judge's decision must be endorsed by commissioners of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC, before it can take effect. ) the CBC commentary (which states: If the commission accepts the ruling, as Lindh told CBC News he expects will happen, the companies will owe Californians $1 billion in refunds, plus $600 million interest.)
About 30 other companies have settled for $3 billion so far, Lindh said.) and a site with unknown bias called Rense.com that stated: The state has taken over responsibility for much of the California electricity supply and is spending about $50 million a day to keep the lights on.)
I think this is becoming political though (against the rules)and your last comment speaks for 'so many' rather than 'yourself'.

One last comment. They did it before about 25 years ago, now I wonder why we opted to sell them power again.

I'll bet you saved more than 12% on the purchase price? (Thanks to Canadian dollar value and US RV prices)

It cost me $639 CA more on $46,339 US. No savings being Canadian! You have to buy the coach right. And trust me when I say that just because the coach is a low price in the US, doesn't mean it's a good buy! Cheap still usually means not worth it due to condition!
You have to look at a lot of rigs to find the right one at the right price worth having.

Every state is broke because the national debt is 16 trillion. Everybody is responsible for that.
At the end of this next four years our national debt will be 20 trillion.
Forget about California's problems, it's the whole country I'm worried about.

Agreed. We saved a lot buying US and importing, including the 12%.
Timing is everything (with regard to money exchange)
What would the same coach cost you in Canadian dollars in Canada?

Probably in the $65k range. But what it's worth doesn't matter. What you can afford to buy does. If you are buying to flip that's one thing. Keeping it you have to afford it!
I had a budget. Thankfully I'm within it. Those of us that import have to pay the GST. Once in Canada, next buyer only pays the PST.
