Where have you been for the last 10 years. Yes, California is broke, so the the US as a whole, but 52 % of the people don't comprehend. We are in the final stages of a USSR meltdown.

That's what he meant, I believe. "Hydro" is a monopoly provider of electricity in BC

Here's what can be done about it, according to an article in Huffington Post by Bob Samuels:

Maybe even bankrupt:

California Goes Bankrupt - Reason.com

The latest city to declare bankruptcy is San Bernardino, which has declared an emergency situation that will allow it to evade the negotiation period mandated by state law. The city simply doesn’t have the cash to keep operating. As Bloomberg reported, “San Bernardino and its agencies have more than $220 million of debt, including $48.6 million of taxable pension-obligation bonds, according to financial statements.” Pension-obligation bonds are used by cities to pay ongoing pension expenses, yet San Bernardino’s problems show that a city cannot borrow its way out of debt.

California ran off big manufacturing(I left when Lockheed got ran out) in the name of being "green". California could tap the vast amounts of oil offshore but "greenies" won't allow it. Problem is now people are leaving and taking that mentality with them to their new state.

I can relate!

Just bought a new (to me) RV, brand new rubber slippers for it AND I get to look forward to paying 12% tax on the WHOLE shooting caboodle at the border when I bring it home!

Thanks Canadian Tax System!

If you want to send me some cash, PM me for my address. LOL

You pay tax to the Canadian tax system OR the US tax system, one or the other, just like everyone else.
If it's any comfort, at the border you pay the GST, (federal) then the PST (provincial) when you register it at MVB.
I'll bet you saved more than 12% on the purchase price? (Thanks to Canadian dollar value and US RV prices)
