Is everyone happy with Vbulletin (forum software)

I am considering starting a forum of my own (not RV related - but auto related). I have always used phpBB for my forums but i was considering a change. I have heard good things about Vbulletin.

Admin are you happy with it?
Mods are you happy with it?
Users are you happy with it?

Its kind of expensive, is it worth it?

I run several web sites and BBs.

I've looked at Vbulletin several times, but the per seat license fee keeps me coming back to SimpleMachines

I run a couple forums as well. I like vbullitin and thinks it's the best out there. However like the previous poster I run simple machines because i didn't want to stroke the check for vbullitin. If at some point the website gets big enough there are easy conversion tools from simplemachines to vbullitin.

Do not use vBulletin 5. It's horrendous. I like vB 4 and use it on four sites. I suggest waiting for XenForo 2 which is in developer preview now which you can access. It's the most modern and actively developed AFAIK.
