It's 5:00am, sitting in the coach at our storage facility. Generator on, furnace on, hot water heater on, and running the water taps every now and then.
We decided to take one more trip this year, and we were hoping to be able to get by without winterizing before then. Knew is was going to get close to freezing tonight, but thought we'd be ok. Woke up at 3:00 and saw it was 30, and that it was going to drop some more, and not get above freezing until late morning. Panic, drove up to our storage place......
Guess what I am going to do today........ Going to drain and blow out the fresh water lines, hot water heater, etc. and make sure the waste tanks are completely clean / empty and put antifreeze into the drains. Was not going to pump antifreeze into the fresh water lines at this time (unless you all think I am nuts not to do so) since we are taking a trip in a couple weeks, and I really doubt if we'll really get any serious cold weather here until after we get back..... We are in a covered storage spot, but not "indoors".

You'll be ok,just drain the hot water heater and blow out the lines real good and that should work.

It's cold here in Youngstown Ohio, but not as bad as last year!
I am wondering if anyone can help me with my Aqua Hot....we drained all tanks and lines, but I am concerned about running the diesel Burner and Aqua Hot system without any water in the domestic water lines....is this safe? We are expecting to leave within next 10 Days for the winter and I would rather not winterize my lines. We have a 450-de1, plus bay heaters and its plugged into 50 amp. My low temp cut off light is illuminated!

Gypsygirl.....you don't need any water in your domestic water lines. So turn your heat on I'm starting to get cold. PS.... It's 49 and raining in the tri-cities here. Mi. Yuma bound Sunday.

It's a balmy 59 degrees here north of Boston. We're enjoying a great Thanksgiving with temperatures 15 degrees warmer than normal! It'll be even nicer tomorrow!
