Is it just me?

I am enjoying the forums, but I am curious if anyone else finds the emoticons annoying, especially the dancing red one?

Welcome to iRV2.
Can't say that the emoticons bother me, I do try not to use too many but sometimes I can't resist.
Guess I just read around them most of the time.

They annoy me also. The constant flashing is distracting. It's the same way with the ads that flash and move.

They are designed to get your attention, like the Redlands Truck and RV ad flashing above this reply box.

I'll not use Redlands based on their annoying ad.

I'm not sure, probably some deep set psychological childhood experience. I guess annoyances are hard to analyze.

I get no adds on this site. I was annoyed by them too. So I got an add blocker. I am now add free and just love it!

It is similar to salting food ... a little dash seems to enhance the flavor, but too much can ruin the meal.

Yea I would like to know also. I love them...

I would like to also know why is it so hard to say hello to your neighbor @ the campground? They just might be the ones that stop on the side of the HWY too help you. Just Maybe.

I enjoy the emoticons. They add emphasis to postings. They only become annoying when someone feels the need to use one after every third word. Even that is cute, but it makes reading the post difficult.

Image that we were standing in a campground talking. In my right hand I have a poster that I'm holding up waving back and forth as we carry on a conversation.

Would that distract you?

I don't mind them to a point. When a post is cluttered with them it is distracting.
