Am I the only one who is outraged by the behavior of Hugo Chavez (Venezuela) & his anti-American, pro-Castro sentiments? I have not, (& WILL NOT)purchase Citgo products since his insane anti US ranting at the U.N. a few months ago. Comments, please !

I'm with you!

Friend going to Nicaragua this month to build homes for poor. Even that is bothering me as Chavez is attempting to bring Nicaragua and Bolivia into his fold.

Have you noticed that there are no more Citgo fuel stations? They are changing their name to "Petro" but it's still Chavez's outfit.

Nope, Valero is very much a San Antonio TX. owned and operated company.

The February issue of Good Sam's Highways monthly magazine may help better understand recent activities with Petro.

"Petro Express is not affiliated with Petro Stopping Centers, which provide Good Sam members with a gas and diesel discount. Petro Express operates a chain of C-Stores and recently debranded their gasoline and no longer sell CITGO branded gasoline after Hugo Chavez visited the United States. They are not owned by CITGO and no longer sell its gasoline"

Thanks for the info. I like Valero, but was afraid it belonged to Venezuela an Chavez.

I will continue to use their gas.

Not a problem, Valero started here around 22 years ago, and at the rate they are going may soon become the largest in the nation. Currently employed around 4,000 in the San Antonio area. Great outfit to work for----- (I have no connection)

Best,
