Is your info on the Internet???

Spokeo

Check out yourself or your neighbors. It has my sign off by a month and it list my neighbor hood as below average. I am sure the Doctors and lawyers that live in here would love to hear that.

Looks like not much to worry about.

This would be more interesting if at least most of the info was accurate. For my name, they should start the page with "Once Upon a Time".

It's info gleaned from other websites that are public...........accurate or not.

There's nothing there that cannot be found by Googling.

Perhaps, but the info they display about ME, and several friends was so INaccurate as to be worthless - and obviously sheer guesswork, NOT info gleaned from other public Internet sources - stuff like marital status, class of home, and education level. Perhaps OK for very casual entertainment, but anything NEAR "accurate", it AIN'T!

Any information, however slight, can be used as a social engineering tool to gain more information. If I know your neighbor's names, you are more likely to tell me something about someone else "we" know that I could use on someone else to gain more information. Social Engineering is one of the earliest forms of intelligence gathering.

You do understand, of course, that you are not the sole possessor of your "name". I googled my name and found "me", some not me, thank God, and a few I wish that was me.

I wonder if there are any totally unique names in the US??

Hi hamguy,
What makes you think I can not distinguish between the same name entries on this site?

It has the right town but wrong street for one of me, but I don't think I've ever been to the state that the other me is listed in. Unless it was 30 some years ago when I was drinking and don't remember.
I'm not going to spend several bucks to see if I'm really me though. After spending 30 years in the military and having to use my SSAN as a service number, I am suprised every time I get my free credit report that there is only one of me on it.

There are many sites that have info about me on the net.. And very few have the RIGHT info... I do that for a reason.

Oh and the sites that do have the proper info.. serious federal laws should they tell anyone with one and only one exception (And they can tell only with my permission)
