A temperature of minus seventeen Fahrenheit (-17 F) was recorded in Fayetteville, Arkansas last night accompained with 17 to 20 inches of snow. I was raised in Arkansas and I've never seen anything close to that temp.

Here is a pic of my brother, who lives in Fayetteville, in his back yard standing in 17 inches of snow which has been seen before.

OK, we need to build a bridge to the US Virgin islands, so I've got a place to take the RV in the winter and escape all this global warming.

A long-range weather forecast last fall prompted us to stay home for the winter. The downside, this cabin fever is killin us.

Have faith. Next week we're supposed to hit the 50-degree mark here in central OH. Maybe Phil was right!

Cheer up!!! It's going to be 49 here in Dallas today with 70 degrees by Monday. I noticed on the weather map that the jet stream seems to be retreating back north and allowing us a warm-up.

You must live close to the big city of Springtown. Does it actually have a spring? I was raised in Hoxie near Jonesboro and all we had were railroads.

Glad we could help with the snow south of the 49th.
A funny world this year

After I posted this I learned that some areas in western AR had temps lower than -30.

Kind of ironic to me to see temps in the -30 range in AR. Here in Buffalo, NY, we have the reputation of tough winters and we have NEVER had a recorded temperature that low. In fact our all time low is only -20 and our all time high is 99. We do get snow, but I haven't closed my office because of weather in probably 15 years. I don't know of very many parts of the country that can make that claim.

Gee, here in Upstate South Carolina's low lands (under 1,000 feet) I've not seen freezing for a few nights and have not seen snow all month.. In fact I don't thing I've seen snow all year. Did see some back at Christmas though.
