It's currently about 55 in Astoria OR and we'll probably have to turn the heat on again tonight! Tomorrow is forecast to be in the mid-60's. Sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in.

Window (screened) open until about 1430'sh. Inside of house (high 80's 'out side' at that point) at 72. Close windows and flip the AC on the wall theimostut.

'Clue to flip the switch?' Two old Dogs flaked out on the kitchen tile floor as its cool to their liking. And who am I to argue with the logic of a 13 year old Husky and a 9 year old Yellow Lab?

They appear to like "71." Good thing, by 1900 - 2100 we're back to the low 70's and off the AC and open the windows again. At 0500'ish we're down to the 50's and the Pooches are wrapped around me ... turn on the heat?

Sorry fellows, this shall pass in a few hours.

It's been mid 90s here most days in Ohio. Last week we had temps range 102+! A major storm rolled through here Friday evening making our town look like a war zone. Tons of people are still without power and could possibly be for another week. Thank goodness we were lucky and didn't lose power. If we did, we would probably just move into the motorhome and run the generator.

As far as staying cool...I work inside and have a swimming pool.

90 at 2AM in Phx. Was probably still 100 at midnight. Got to 114 either Sun or today. Forgot to reset the memory on my gauge, so I'm not sure which day it was.

My infrared temp gun showed 190 on the sunny side of my truck tire when it was 110 ambient.

Old homesteaders lament:

It was so hot the corn popped in the field, the cow thought it was snow and froze to death.

Saw my weather station hit 101 yesterday afternoon. Pretty dang rare here for central Mich.

I started a cold beer I.V. Not sure it was the cold or the beer, just remember not caring either way

Steady rain and 52 at 07:30 this morning. This area is living up to the claim that summer starts July 5th!

My Dad used to sing a folk song about how hot it was in Kansas! It had lyrics something like this: "It's so hot in Kansas that the popcorn in the corn field popped, I thought it was snow and I froze to death, way down south in Kansas"
Wish I could remember all the words of that song.
We have a heat index over 100 all week. Summer is here!
