Can I just tell you how green-eyed with envy I am to all the full-timers, and also those who relocate to warmer climates in the wintertime?
I have been grousing to my dh for at least 10 years, now and am still stuck in the rain/sleet/snow/rain/sleet weather of my fine town. And it is a fine town, with great people .. -- it's just the damn weather that gets me! Oh to be riding my bicycle year round!

Purplefans & Harvey, If you're in Florida right now .. that ain't no bargain. Right now it's 21° right now and it is expected to be 18° by morning. I don't know anyone that owns a furnace around here and we're mostly all running heat pumps.

Now for this weekend Sunday is forecast for 60° Yahoo!

Fair enough. I don't blame you. We're from California and still sold the house and went full time so we could stay warmer. We like riding bikes too but my barometer of the weather we're in is how many months per year I can wear shorts and flip flops!

Keep grousing at the DH because it's only the beginning of December and you have a lot of ugliness left before you can oil your chains and go riding.

Hang in there...

You know it, PF&H, it looks like I won't make it south this winter, so I'm awash in all kinds of weirdness. Not a day goes by lately, without visions of my favorite (and sunny!) Southwestern Parks, like Capital Reef, Bryce, the Grand Canyon, and I was planning on Arches NP this year .... Ahhh, well.
So, I'll make do with the great Pacific Northwest, maybe the beach for awhile.... Better luck next year, eh?

Yeah & according to the calendar, it's still Fall . Winter doesn't "officially" start until December 21.

I can only hope this means Spring will be here sooner.

Me and Willa must be further south than you. It is only down to about 29 here and the Indian River is not completely frozen over yet. What makes it so nice is that the ''flamin'' wind is blowing between 18 and 60 mph against the side of the coach and we have an electric heater that hasnt turned off for three days I think and our Yorkie is cold natured and she sits in front of the heater and absorbs all the heat and I am sleeping with a toboggan on my head Willa keeps ''hoggin'' the blanket and she sleeps in a '' thick fuzzie bathrobe'' and it is like cuddling up to a bear with nice boobs and this is only costing us about 30 dollars per day but ''WE ARE IN FLORIDA AND WE ARE HAVIN FUN'' ......

God bless our troops and please bring them home real soon

'Purple'

I'm with ya. Love our WI home, and the community, but I'm not willing to keep paying WI taxes or enduring any more WI winters than I have to. We put the house up for sale sometime next year, Peggy retires in '12, then its 'follow the sun' for us.

PS: Walk down any street in MA or RI, and one out of 2 people you pass is probably related to me. My mother's side (the BIG side) of the family is from New England.

Here in sunny Surprise Az. the low was 53 and the high today should be 75. Beautiful weather for hiking and rockhounding. We have been watching all the snowbirds go by heading toward Quartzite. We don't normally see this many until after Christmas.
Come on down the weathers fine.

Wishful thinking on my part too! Enough cold, come on spring.
