change his (wilsons) reaction time on the buzzer to that of a human and the guys will kick his butt. For humans there is a ''reaction time'' from the time they realize the answer to the reaction time of the finger pushing the buzzer. I am not sure what it is but you can test it yourself. Pick up something hot and you will burn your fingers before you can drop the object. try it... that is called ''reaction time'' for the brain to tell your fingers they are being burned and to ''drop'' the object. This will be the guys downfall because this ''wilson'' will have zero reaction time on the Buzzer. Considering this, the computer will win, unless of course they have a power failure.....

Lets bring our troops home soon ....

Watson in a landslide.

To Seajay, there is a reaction time with Watson, just like a human. If you get he chance, watch the program that shows the years of development that makes Watson what it is today.

I wonder how the computer will determine the time to press the button. If I remember, the buttons are inactive until Alex finishes reading the answer. I would think the humans would have a slight edge over Watson in deciding when answer is completed. Just hopeing (sic) a human wins.

Watson doesn't have the reaction time of the worlds fastest computer IBM has at one trillion computations a second but I am sure it is faster than any human.

I'm voting for Alex Trebek. He already has all the answers!

Gee i wonder why IBM didn't choose to use Windows instead of Linux???

It would have been really fast then.

Watson's Wrong Answer

I found it interesting last night that Watson gave the identical (and incorrect) response immediately after what had been incorrectly responded to by one of the contestants.

Obviously, that possibility wasn't engineered into the programming. I don't think a human contestant would have made that same error.
