Jobs While Traveling

This might be in the wrong forum but the one job related one seemed more for Kampworkers so I am sticking it here.
I have a background in software development and quality assurance. I am interested in finding something I could do while traveling, meaning while stopped in one place for a 2-3 week stretch ten moving on to another area. A search of Work-from-home jobs just isn't getting me anywhere in finding something where I can work remotely. I know there are many companies offering 'work from home' but I haven't been able to even get past simply submitting a resume.
We'd both like to travel to a few places in Florida to look for a home but haven't decided on west side (Fort Meyers) or east side (Boynton, Port St. Lucie) or even south side (Keys) so it will be a long search and it would be nice to be able to generate some income o keep us going.
Any other IT folks out there who have been able to travel and work at the same time?

I retired 2 years ago and have been consulting for about the last year. Worked out of motorhome via telephone and laptop. We were heading north until last Thursday when they asked me to return for 3 months to assist in implementing a large organizational change. It can be done, but does require lots of flexibility.

I retired two years ago. It sounds like we have a similar background to you. My home base is in NC.

What I found that works best for me is simply to take a six month contract and work for a set period of time, then take some time off between contracts. I am lucky that I am able to take a contract at the same employer that I retired from, doing the same type work.

But when going through several contract firms, that are located in various area of the country where I would like to spend time (e.g.: in FL for winter, in NC part of the year, in AZ part of the year, etc.), I am getting offered contracts in these other locations and can work out of my RV at those locations for a set time.

I have a question about what retirees do when they full time with all their past tax info especially those that were self employed and have to keep all those expenses and information for their taxes they filed for the past 7 years.

This is a good idea and I wouldn't mind so much having to report to an office building if it was near where I'd like to be looking for a house.
My wife is in the same line of work and has gotten into contracting although she works full time for the contracting company. Those companies tend to want her in the office because she is a contractor and their own FTEs are able to work from home.
When I was a QA Manager, I was working from home for many years and had staff in a few states as well as an offshore team. We were very successful with that plan and I rarely had issues with it. I just had to be clear and set expectations up front. I also have parrots and had to be diligent in conducting meetings away from their occasional squawking!

I kind of have to same question because we just put our full time home up for sale last week and have been moving things to a vacation condo in southern Jersey. Between the condo and a storage unit we are still running out of room! While I realize we'll need to buckle down and get of a lot more there are things like paperwork from investments and bills that need to be saved. If I get back into my line of work I'll also have to start saving the things you are mentioning. Yikes! I'm getting real good at scanning and putting to files but even that can get muddled when you start categorizing things and then go to find them.

I work from home in PA tho the company for whom I work is based in Washington DC. I act as the office administrator, executive & personal assistant to the President and sales specialist.....LOL!!! If I were onsite I'm sure I would be janitor! We also employ my assistant, a real estate specialist and a graphics/internet geek, one in Michigan, one in San Diego and the other in Miami. So there a lot of opportunities out there. I've worked this way for 8 years, was hired by the company president when I decided to close down the travel agency I had owned for 32 years and I worked for him for nearly 3 years before I met him in person.

When we bought the fifth wheel it was because I could work from anywhere. When we bought the Winnie he said...please tell me it has WiFi!!
