I'd like to thank Michael's Dad, too.

My Dad couldn't be there - he was fighting in India at the time.

I'll add my heartfelt thanks to Michael's Dad, and to all the Dads that gave me the ability to grow up free. I have a cousin on the Arizona and another cousin was on Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal.

Thanks Michael for the reminder that freedom is not free!

My Dad did not get to Normandy until June 12th, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. I thank him all of the time and I miss him. Tomorrow June 11th, will be 19 years since I Lost him. I thank all of the members of my family and all other of the men and women of the Greatest Generation for all they gave.

My Dad spent 4 yrs in the south Pacific, 1942 - 1946 he was in the occupation of Japan after the surrender "SP". I miss my Dad and wish I could again talk with him. But for his sake and most of the greatest generation, it's better they don't see what their efforts have given way too. Treasonous acts within our own government, our leaders who have never served a day for their country selling out our boys in harms way, GOD help us!!!

My Dad was a Tailgunner and flew over Germany starting in Sep 1944. I was lucky that he made it home in one piece, met my Mom, married and had a whole slew of kids. I lost my Dad a little over two years ago but I still thank him almost everyday for what he did - along with going to the schools each year to help educate some of our young about WW2. There are actually some very good teachers who still use these vets to tell about our history ...
