Kate Smith introduces God Bless America

Just beautiful! This film was made at the beginning of World War II - it was a dark and dangerous time- America stood a good chance of being annihilated as a nation by two powerful Axis powers - Germany and Japan. People today have no idea what a very scary time that was. Kate Smith did a great job of awakening Americans patriotism with that song.

It's too bad we've lost some of that patriotism. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you Dirk
Awesome I was watching some of the other clips that come up along the bottom of the screen. Having grown up in Phila. PA and being a Phila. sports fan in the 1970's it was Kate Smith sings God Bless America and LETS GO FLYERS God Bless You Kate Smith, nobody will ever sing it better.

I live in northern Delaware and have been to Flyers games and I'm quite familiar with the association.
