Bullhead City AZ, present temp 111 degrees. inside motorhome temp 79. Guess my attempts to improve air movement in AC plus added insulation are working. Running two roof airs and four fans.

Sitting in a tomb with sun screens on the windows and all the blinds closed but have to be in hot country for about another week. At least we are fairly comfortable.

That sounds pretty good to me but/when the 79 seems warm all you need to do is step outside for a couple of minutes and when you go back in that 79 will feel real good, no?

Same here in Mesa Az 110 2 AC and 2 fans 80 degrees inside till the sun goes down. We have a 5th wheel.

FWIW Out of curiosity do folks use stuff like reflectix to make sun screens?

I have a smaller roll I have cut pieces out of that slide under the window blinds mostly for cold weather. The metalized layer reflects back outside while the bubble wrap adds a bit of insulation. Easy to cut an fit with scissors. Ways very little.

I would not drive with it but I wonder what would happen if somebody taped a layer over the roof of a MH. ;-)

I have used the reflective bubble wrap in the past and it works good, probably better than the sun screen material it is just harder to store. The biggest downside for me is that I like to see out the windows and only close everything up in extreme heat so I no longer use the reflectix. For further insulation in the overhead cabinets in the slides I have cut 3/4 in Insulfoam panels into strips that I just wedge into the top and back of the cabinets no glue needed.

The sun screen for my slide outs work great and you can still look out the windows. I found a guy that comes right to you and makes what ever you want at a good $$.

I use reflectix for the front windows in the MH. Due to the height, I had to put some stiff wire through it at several points to keep it upright. Then I close the front curtains to help hold it in place and keep the dogs from moving it around. The reflectix helps a lot in keeping the blazing sun from heating up the inside of the coach. A LOT!

If I'm just moving a short distance I roll it up and store it on the bed. Otherwise, I store it in the outside storage for longer periods of time.
