If you look closely, you will notice that the vehicle is from Australia based on the foreign license plate. They drive on the opposite side of the highway therefore the entry door would be on the left side, not the right side as found in the USA.

After all, it would take an eccentric person from Australia like you see in the photo to go visit King's Canyon during the wintertime anyhow.

That's my explanation and I'm sticking to it.
