Now that is a statement that I'll need some clarification on. Dan Weldon died by being caught up in someone elses wreck, that being a couple of virtually inexperienced drivers touching wheels, and on an oval that was too fast for Indy cars and was a part of the schedule as an acceptable track. Those inexperienced drivers were there as a part of a money gimmick. Additionally, Weldon was possibly out of condition/reflexs weren't toned after only racing two times after Indy this past season.

Now, back to the program - Kyle Busch - an uncontrollable fantastic talent that needs to take some time off to spend with someone who can help his anger management (ala 'Smoke')

Kyle has now issued a letter of apology. It was probably drafted by Joe Gibbs or someone in the Gibbs organization, but I hope Kyle means at least part of what is said in the letter. He is a talented driver, but he needs to become more emotionally mature.

If something like this would have happened at our local track(Punta Gorda Fl.) we would have been suspended for the rest of the year(race 10.5 months) SEEN IT DONE MORE THAN ONCE.

In the old days a driver would park their car after the are and meet their opponent in their pit or at their trailer and handle it like a man. Kyle is a good driver but not much of a man if he has to use his car or truck to attack his foe. Off the track that action wouls be considered an attack with a lethal weapon.

As pointed out already NASCAR won't put up with four letter words or throwing punches so they have to address this.

It also could not have happened to a better guy. I don't have much care for KB.

I belive those that would use a vehicle as a weapon need to be weeded out of racing.
Very good move NASCAR!!
Now if Kyle learns to behave I think he should be allowed to race.
The anger mangenment classes tony stewart took some years seems to worked quite well.

I read his apology and not sure I'm buying into it. Kyle only apologizes when he is made to. He is the most talanted driver out there, but he is also one of the most dangerous. Ron could have been seriously injured. It will be interesting to see what happens Tuesday whether Nascar issues more penalties. He needs more than this weekend to reflect on his actions.

No driver in any of the NASCAR divisions can be very competitive without a little banging and bumping. It’s the nature of the business they are in. KB is an aggressive driver that strives to win. Other drivers in the divisions he competes in are not going to be very warm to his style of driving especially when he consistently runs in the top five and wins a lot. CE & KH have both said in interviews this year that they would take KB out of a race if he roughed them up. Should NASCAR take that seriously or call it “boys have at it”? If they thought they were going to “know it when they saw it” they should have defined it. Sponsors may get a little ruffled over the situation but they love the lime light and winners get it.

IC2, what I mean is, NASCAR, in their worship of the almighty dollar, put twice as many cars on the track as it would safely handle, especially with those speeds. Therefore, IMO they are responsible for that tragedy. The experts who reviewed the crash (s), said there was less than one second for Dan Wheldon to react at that speed, when he saw what was happening.
If NASCAR is really serious about reforming Kyle, they will also fine the team owner, for allowing Kyle's behavior leading up to his latest display of intelligence.
I'm done, that's more than I've talked about money-worshiping NASCAR in several years.

You can't put your front bumper on the back bumper of anyone while under "Caution". I'm with the majority of the folks that voted that NASCAR made the right call. M&M / Mars will make the 2nd call come Monday if they care to do so.

Ray - totally different racing series and completely unrelated. Open wheel series (Indy car) vs standard sedan style (NA$CAR). As far as the number of cars, there were 32 instead of the usual 24-28. Too many inexperienced drivers for flat out, banked oval, 1.5 mile track, racing.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled rant about Jug Ears the Younger

Any action Mars Candy takes will be based on the Companies bottom line. If they think they will lose money if they stay with Kyle they will drop sponsorship from him. If they think the bottom line will be unaffected, they will stay with him. Rarely will a Company do the "right" thing when it comes to sponsor money, their action will only be dictated by $$$$$.

Busch ran up on the rear of Hornaday and caused Hornaday to smack the wall head-on in what was hard contact.
This was after the racing was done.

kyle needs to learn to not win with grace, a skill so many other drivers have mastered. He aslo has to learn some days other vehicles on the track are better or faster than yours. it is not his place to remove them form the race that day.
Many drivers in the past and present have been competive without driveing in such a manner. If your in the lead its very hard to spin others out.

Montoya blatantly said he will do anything to win an oval track race. He drives dirty. He even took out own his team mate on the last lap to win a road race. Jeff Bodine is no better. He took out his own brother to win. KB, Montoya, Bodine and some others are a bunch of cry-babys and always blame somebody else when they crash. NASCAR needs to do something so KB can't win the championship this year.
