Hi All.

Unfortunately, my original holiday to the Maldives in October isn't happening.

Instead, I'm going to do a flydrive holiday to Florida (Sept 24th for 14 days) and take the opportunity of doing a recce trip to Lazy Days.

I'm going to take my diving gear on holiday with me and I was wondering whether anyone fancied meeting up for a dive or two, or if not, could recommend the best dives to do whilst in Florida.

If you plan to be at Outer Banks NC on Labor Day week-end, I'll show you some nice spots.

Mike.

I've never surfed before. I have enough problems standing up "To Be Counted" let alone on a surfboard.

William.
Only have a fortnights holiday (stating 24th Sept) so will be just be doing Florida.

Both
If'n'when I do start RVing, hope you won't mind if I get back to then

Cam,
Welcome to Florida! The best SCUBA diving close to Lazy Days would be in fresh water. Crystal River and Rainbow River are beautiful dives an hour or 2 north of Tampa. There are several crystal-clear springs also. Diving in the Gulf is shallow without much sea-life. The best salt-water dives are in the Keys or off the lower east coast in the Palm Beach area, 4 to 7 hours driving from Tampa.
Late September is a great time to visit Florida, the humidity is lower, the water is warm, the summer crowds have gone and the Snowbirds have not arrived.
Have a great time!
Dave
