We're in Maggie Vally NC now and took a ride on the parkway this morning. The leaves are starting to change and in about two weeks, they should be in full bloom. Our problem is that we have to leave tomorrow for a trip back home to Florida (doctor visits.) All the CGs we passed seem to have quite a few empty spaces, Maybe its still early. But the fall colors are starting to show s/Toby

Neil

Lowest Gas is $3.84 and Diesel is $3.99 here in Maggie Vally. There were a few pumps closed, but most are open. Just about all of them had Diesel. The cheapest I found was in Kentucky, Diesel was $3.63. After Ike, we were in Pigeon Forge Tenn and over night gas went from around $3.64 to $4.99 but several days later it went back down to around $3.84. Bring some wollies with you, it chilly up here in the morn. Stayed at one of the prettiest camp grounds ever outside of Elizabethton Tenn, but I'll share that later when we get back home. s/Toby

The last time I brought out the woolies was when winter camping in a tent. Although it warmed up to 26 below zero during the day the nights were a brisk 38 below zero. Not much of a chance of that right now from here to the NH border.

Good to hear the gas situation is easing up.

From having lived and traveled in that area for decades, off and on - the trees peak from mid-October until early Noveber, depending on breed and altitude. While you're in the area, don't pass up the Cumberland Mt's, around Fall Creek Falls State Park (TN).
