Same here with COE parks on Beaver Lake. Only about a third of the spots are reserved. Everything else is first come first served... Of course the lake is so high many spots are closed...

I'm so glad to see so many advocating driveway camping. Now I can say no I'm not crazy, just practising to be a full timer, and know I'm not the only one. Practice makes perfect and like mentioned, is a perfect way to learn how to better enjoy your outings, and your new equipment.
Happy trails

We experienced a similar situation this past past weekend. Wife was planning to take grandson tent camping. I can't do the tent thing anymore with the back issues and CPAP so I had no plans to go. Grandson was shocked to hear I wasn't going and that he wasn't going in the RV. We ended up switching gears and taking the RV but here we are Friday night trying to find a place with available sites for Sat and Sun nights. Ended up at a KOA in Bluffton IN and had a great weekend. We just kept making the circle larger till we found something. Ended up only being a 2.5 hour drive so not that bad.
