Many TS spots, both RV spaces and back with the truckers put the side of the motorhome in shadows. In that case I leave my porch light on. My porch light has been converted to LED.

Some years ago while staying in a Georgia State Park an older rig pulled in next to us on the awning side so we could not see their awning. Later that night, as it got dark we noticed it was really bright from the other side of our new neighbors. I thought they either had a bright lantern or a huge fire that many in the south like to make. After a bit, we went for a walk and saw the source of the light, a string of bare 60 watt bulbs around their awning! They did turn them off later thankfully.
And no, I do not leave mine on intentionally, but have forgotten on occasion.

Way more annoying is leaving your Gas Water heater on all night when the weather is cooler.

" Leaving Outside Entry Light On - Why? "

1. Because they can ?!

2. Or -- maybe they are waiting for that knock on the door in the middle of the night?

Didn't know that light was so annoying. When mine goes off in the morning it tells my friends that the coffee is ready.

May I ask why?
It's imposable for a LP water heater burn bright enough for anyone to see.
If anyone can hear it burning from over 5'-10' feet unless the LP/air mixture is not adjusted properly.
If it bothers you when you are trying to sleep in your own coach turn it off, get a good night's sleep and adjust it in the morning.

The perfect solution for those people who like to burn a porch light all night is to switch it out for a Smart Light that is distributed by Star Lights, Inc.

Smart Light 1000 - Star Lights, Inc.

It comes in white or black with a 200 lumens LED bulb.

I have two, one that replaced the porch light near the front entrance and one for the roadside that I mounted up high over the service bay.

When motion is detected, the light comes on. A few seconds later it goes off.

Simple solution. If you have a problem neighbor, buy them one and help them to install it.

I am parked at a wilderness park with lots of wildlife. Often during the night a deer will walk by which then trips the motion detector and the light pops on. I have woken up a couple of times when that has happened to see the deer walk gingerly by our coach.

I think DW sleeps with her eyes open. Even the blue ready light on the coffee pot will make her get up and turn it off. No way could I leave a light on outside that could possibly be a smudge of light coming in through a closed night shade. No way!

Nice idea and setting. And not one boat anchor in all those words.

Makes sense and I've done it too.

Guilty for forgetting. Even though it is a .1 amp LED, it is all night.

Have the smart light, works great, comes on when we walk up to MH, comes on when we go out the door and comes on when someone walks by. Otherwise it's turning it self off.
