LED Tail Light Mod

I wanted to add LEDs to my STT (stop turn tail) since all 11 marker lights were replaced with the Bargman plug and play LEDs and the tags lights with LEDs to. Since I work at a trailer shop I looked all over to find a LED with the same footprint and couldn't. I wanted to try an Optronics STL78RB behind the OEM lens and it worked so here is how to do it.

This style of light is on a lot of TT's MOHO's and Pups so this can help a lot of people

Remove lens

Remove bulb and drill out rivet holding ground wire in

Now remove the bulb holder, you can see how its held in by a little tab just pop it out and then pull the wires out.

Here is the lights to install, the left is the modified right is how it comes from the factory

Here is trimming it.

Then I used my bench grinder to make a little notch for the wires.

Remove the little divider that is on one the base plate, not needed, but makes it easier.

Next wire time, solder all connections and use heat shrink (yes I know I used tape, Im out of heat shrink lol)

Now install light.

Reinstall lens and enjoy.

Not sure either, but what are Plug & Play? And Tag Lights?
I found some that I am going to purchase @ m4 or 4m lights. I can't remember right nowfor sure but they have 10 Leds per clearance light. They also have LEDs for different shape taillights.
I hope you get it figured out I would like to see the Pic's
Thanks,
Tim

I replaced the lights on the rear of my fiver a couple of years ago. The lights I used were smaller than the originals, but they covered all the mounting holes. The only complaint I got about them was from my son following me one night. He complained that the brake lights were too bright when he was close to it!
