Remember, many of those warning labels were written by lawyers. And many of them because the company got sued when some Darwin Award Candidate did what it warns against.

We attended an Easter dinner cooked by my sons Mother-In-Law. When she took the ham out of the oven and tried to cut it she realized that it was still in the plastic cover. It's very difficult to ruin a ham but cooking it in the plastic cover sure did it. We should have known it wasn't going to be good when all rolls came out of the oven and the bottom halves were all burned to the cookie sheet. Not one of our better meals. We did eat it and smiled as well.

As I said. Written because someone needed that warning and did not see it. Even when warnings some folks sue and win.. True example

A man made hill in Southfield MI is surrounded by the typical 7' Barb Wire topped fence, There are signs NO BICYCLES ALLOWED.

Mr, Darwin Candidate manages to get his bicycle over the fence, squeezes through the gate, Walks the bike to the top of the hill, comes riding down "LOOK MA LOOK"... WHAP (hits back of No Bicycles on hill sign) NO HEAD.

The city settled out of court

(Frankly had I been city attorney I would have settled out of court then fined them 3x the settlement for tresspass and child neglect)

But that is why the warnings exist.. also why Wendy's web page is so popular (Darwin)

Ever noticed on a hair dryer it states you should not use while standing in the water in the bathtub? Yep, some braniac actually used an electrical appliance standing in water.

How about the rotary lawn mowers that have the sign saying "Do not put hands under the deck while mower is operating." One brainy guy picked his mower up to trim his hedges. Another lawsuit.

The lawsuits aren't funny if you have ever been a victim of one. I had a guy sue me because I WOULDN'T prepare a fraudulent tax return for him. Yes, you did read that correctly. My attorney's advice was to pay him when I got the notice. I told him there is no way I was going to pay this crooked piece of dung. Bottom line....it cost me $60,000 to get it thrown out of court. It would have been cheaper to pay him on day 1. You wouldn't believe the warnings I now have on my e-mails. Live and learn.

On the Florida turnpike extension they have removed the toll booths and replaced them with overhead license plate readers. They now either charge your Sunpass for the tolls, or send you a bill in the mail. Naturally they had to install Do Not Stop signs at each set of overhead plate readers.

Years ago when I travelled from Florida to Great Lakes Naval Station, Illinois, I was crossing the river from Louisville, Ky. into Indiana. A huge billboard on the Ky. side read, "WARNING! You are entering a Gestapo Police State!"
I always wondered what inspired someone to have it put there?

This cordset is for intended for indoor use. To prolong the life of the cordset, store indoors when not in use.
