Your other options: Prepare both a legit and fraudlent return, send both to the IRS with a full letter of explanation and give him a copy of both.. Collect reward from IRS.

2: Counter sue for malicious whatever it is called (you have a lawyer he should have told you this)

ANd you can still report him to the Infernal RS folks.

Our sticks and bricks home town actually spent the money to put up a bunch of signs with a bicycle on them and "share the road". Wow now I can't run over those pesky bicyclists anymore.

I really believe that the picture in post #20 is staged. Those guys are smiling and drinking beer. Besides the electrical strip floating in the water is not waterproof. Water should already be entering the backside and tripping the built in breaker. It is well done and funny.

NOW had they been some GS guys in a HOT TUB toasting with champagne I would believe it was real without a doubt!!!!!

Just MHO

Probably, but you can't change the reality that there are some dumb warning labels out there for people who either want to get rich or are real dumb and can't see the danger in front of them.

When I see one of the obvious warning signs I get a little sad. They go against the natural order of things. In a perfect world people would get eliminated for doing stupid things and the gene pool would be strengthened. Allowing dumb people to have warnings and saving them from themselves just allows them to reproduce and then we all are a little diminished.

BFlinn181,
You took the words out of my mouth and you were very kind but accurate.

You are correct about the diminished gene pool and I have a good idea where most of them are located. It is also sad that the first 2-5 pages (wasting more trees) in almost every owners manual are devoted to the same folks.

How about when you call your doctor to make a routine appointment and the recording says, "If this is an emergency please hang up and call 911." That's a stupid waste of my time.

Thanks,
TeJay

I think that is referred to as CYA. With today's legal system, those things are an absolute necessity.

Here in NY and I would assume other states, you have no right to counter sue when you get hit by a bogus lawsuit. When I got the notice of the lawsuit I checked into that route right away. NYS is a state that is overly lawyer friendly.

As to your suggestion about preparing two returns, the IRS will only process signed returns so that option didn't exist because I'm sure the crook would have signed the fraudulent return and just destroyed the correct return which would have left me hanging with a known fraudulent return. I couldn't really blow the guy into the IRS because of our own confidentiality rules. So the bottom line is that I had to bite the bullet and pay the lawyers.

As with any warning labels, our warnings that we use are only worthwhile if someone reads them. Do you read and heed the safety warnings on everything you buy? I'll bet that most of us don't.

No one trusts warning labels and safety signs. Look what happens when you see a park bench with the sign "WET PAINT" on it. Talk about trust-----

A few years ago a Korean Tourist lost his wife and little baby boy when he had the wife place the baby on the tame Grizzly's back, to get a cute picture. He thought it was tame because the bear was wandering around on the front lawn of a huge hotel. I can't remember if this was Banff or Jasper Park but because the article was in the paper I would think it to be true.

How about the warning label on the side of a coffee cup? Caution Contents Hot, I hope so!

No Trespassing seems to mean nothing to some folks. Private drive 800 feet from the main road, An orange cone below a sign that says private property no trespassing, then a yellow plastic chain with another sign hanging from it and another orange cone below it, and to the right corner is the final warning sign. Trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again. Still it amazes me how many people will go that far. Idiots still trespass trying to pass through my property to get to the lake.

But the Bible says to forgive trespassers!
