I don't use Corelle anymore. I had my grandson with me and the dish slid off the counter when he was trying to pick it up. When it hit the floor it broke into a thousand pieces sending tiny shards everywhere. He had shorts on unfortunately. We ended up at the emergency room getting pieces picked out of his legs, one place required stitches. Never again!

My experience was a long while ago, before were were in this house and we have been here for 20 years. I think that the material must be created and formed under great pressure and when it breaks loose it really lets go.

Melanie & Harry. what a frightening experience, I'm so glad that it did not get his eyes that is what worried me. I have a set in the motorhome... forgot about all of this. I may replace it.

We just switched to plastic because the shattering when dropped issue became a way to often event. We have a wood floor and it does not help. Love the Fibber McGee closet syndrome after traveling and then more mess than you need or want at the end of the day. That said the event does justify a libation after cleanup.

Everything is small stuff!
