Lifting the lid
While on holidays I found the solution to the long time problem of leaving the lid up at a restaurant in Puerto Vallarta.
Only in Mexico!

Ever seen the floor pan? Common in the Middle East. Looks like a shower pan with two indents for your feet. Try this exercise on a train. Need real good balance and a Scott Pak.

A number of years ago we took a cruise with at least one stop in Mexico. My sister and I took a shore excursion to some of the Mayan ruins. There was a rest stop mid way there. I wasn't surprised to see no lids on the toilets in the men's room, but my sister was sure surprised not to see any in the ladies room! We both commented, however, how spotlessly clean they were.

You have to consider the cost. It'd cost at least ten bucks for a seat and take almost three minutes to install. That might ruin the days cash flow.

I have been places where there is just a hole in the floor and a stack of magazines. The magazines are not for reading - and only the slick pages are remaining...

Been to one place in the Med where it was just a three foot high free standing wall with a gutter in front of it.
It was only used for onesies, not sure about twosies though.

I'll never forget a story my Mom told me of her growing up and having an outhouse.
She said they used the Sears Robuck catalog as their bathroom tissue and they would start crumpling pages to soften them as soon as they arrived on the scene.
The high point for her was Christmas. They would save the wrappers from the mandarin oranges as no effort was needed to make them soft. Being below zero many times in the cold winters, time saved was pleasure earned.

Ahh yes, back in the days when paper was paper and scratchy and hard and scratchy, well you get the point.
Years ago when I worked in the woods all the guy's on the rigging never ever had pockets on the back of their pants. They tear off easily and are soft.
