Reminds me of the time I spent on Spectacle Reef Lighthouse Spectacle Reef Light - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia off shore in Lake Huron when I was a electrician the USCG doing the first automation in the early 70s. It's truly an experience being inside one during a storm knowing there is nowhere to go and then you start thinking about how long ago they were built but it's still standing after 40 more years .

I haven’t seen anything this horrifying since I had a connection on my sewer hose unhook just as I pulled the valve lever. There weren’t any lighthouses nearby but if there had been one it would have put the light out at the top I’m sure.
Thanks for the great pictures.

I have been to more than a few of those lighthouse locations (The ones in Michigan) however only in the summer.. Those pictures of the St. Joseph light, are truly amazing, and just a few miles from where my borther lives as we RVers measure didtance.

I live about 40 minutes from Holland Michigan, which is right on the lake shore as well, and during the big wind storms I like to go and take pictures of the storms and the waves, I am glad I live in Michigan, it's such a cool state

Beautiful, awe inspiring pics. We saw several of the lights on our trip to MI in September. Having lived on the east coast and spent a lot of time at the Ocean, we were amazed at the beauty and power of the Great Lakes.

The one of the Oswego Lighthouse is one of mine. I have more on my Lighthouse Page.

Nice work, I wish I had the camera I have now when I lived back on the Great Lakes.

I suspect salty water beats mudNwater any day.

Those are awesome pictures. We plan to make a round trip of the UP this coming fall.

Such a cool state.. Epically long about the end of Jan.. Oh, not that kind of cool.

Yes it is. And I have the good fortune to see quite a bit of it.. Grew up in Tekonsha (yes the Tekonsha of Tekonsha Engineering home of the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller) then moved to Battle creek, wound up working in roofing and covered a good hunk of S.W. Michigan (About 4 or five counties including the cities of Sturgus, Albion and of course Battle Creek, all the way N.W to the Kent county line) and dang near to Lansing (the county line west of Lansing, lansing is in two counties), Then we moved to Detroit.. Since getting my first RV (A PUP) I've been to Indian River, home of the Catholic Shrine, the world's largest wooden crucifix, and the shrine to my daughter's confirmation saint, I've been to Paradise, (Yes I was glad I made it) and the water falls near by (Do not even try to spell it, Hiawatha's "Swiftly Falling Stream". and other falls, 2 Hearted River Whitefish Bay and other places along the North Shore. I can't even start to list all the places in the Lower half. But my daughter went to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp wihcih has a twin lakes mailing address. (north of Muskegon) and we currently summer in Davison (near Flint) and St. Clair, for the next 2 summers, then we will wander farther I hope. It is a lovely state.

And I'm not just saying that becuause they are funding my retirement.

In fact about the only negative I have to say is about our current govenmanure who pushed a bill to tax pensions (Which used to be exempt from state and local tax) However that's mitigated by the fact that it includes an exemptin and I'm ..... Under the tax limit. So I'm exempt.

Still find the law offensive though.
