Cool Live Eagle Cam in York County Pa

For those of you who may not have been aware of this, The Pennsylvania Game Commission has a live camera (Eagle Cam) mounted at an Eagles nest located in southern York County.
Both eggs hatched two days ago. Becomes addicting to watch. See the Dad bring fish and rodents to the nest.

Bringing home the groceries

That is so neat, when you catch the father dropping off the food and fresh straw and hay for the nest.

I guess the rest of the time, he is hanging out at the local tavern drinking beer and playing pool with his buddies.

That depends, Gerry. Is he a Philadelphia Eagle? Sorry. . .

We have had one where I live in Iowa for the past few years. The pair never migrates. Two years ago they built a new nest not far from the old one so Raptor Resources could not mount a camera the first year on the new nest. The pair have lost 4 of the offspring to electrical shock. One was mounted with a tracking device and was tracked up to Canada and back to the Decorah, Iowa area. Neat to watch when the young ones hatch.

Did anyone see what that animal is that is laying on the top side of the nest?
Looks like it might be a rabbit?, squirrel?, cat?

opc orn:

Incidentally, We bought a case of Microwave popcorn at Costco last week (Kirkland-Movie Theater Butter). Best microwave popcorn we ever had, pops real big without the hard centers like other popcorn. Package says 1.5 Minutes but you have to put it in for about 3 minutes.

And yes Bruce, that must be a Philadelphia Eagle, since the nest is only about 100 miles away from Philly.

HUGE Thank you for the Cam's, Never new something like this was around, I know on Norwegian Cruise ships they have live cams but this is wonderful. I have added it to my Favorites. We have a Red Tail Hawk around our S&B's Don't know where His/her nest is.
I have noticed in the last few years we are seeing more and more Hawks sitting on the Lights along the HWY. Pretty neat seeing them.
Thanks, Again
Tim
