Sounds she is doing great. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you.

As far a prostrate problems they implanted 63 radiated seeds to kill the cancer in my prostrate. So far so good. The fancy name for the radiated seeds is Brachytherapy. You might check that as an option if push comes to shove.

So far I haven't even gotten the results but the cost is showing up on the clinic web site! Probably going to have to cancel or reschedule my next appt to go over the results as my wife has blood draws on Monday and Thursday at 9:00 am to assess the anti-rejection med levels and they set my appt for this Thursday at 9:15 am. Called them yesterday about it and no call back.

She is doing very well, still in some pain naturally but more from the broken ribs than anything else. All liver functions are good but the anti-rejection drugs are keeping the hemoglobin and white cell count down below normal which is totally as expected. Right now it's Mon and Thursday blood draws and a Tuesday checkup at OHSU. Later they will change to less often so in a year just one blood draw a month.
They will take the 68 staples out on Tuesday and looking at bringing her home Wed. The did a home visit and suggested a few things like a shower seat and grab bar.

Oh yes, my biopsy came back clean except for one that showed a little abnormality but it's only a 2% chance of going to cancer. So just come back in a year for another PSA test.

THANKS YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT!!

Mr_D,

Thanks for the update. That is great news. I'll bet she is anxious to get home.

Continued prayers from here for her continued improvement and for your continuing support of her. Be sure to take care of yourself so you can continue to take care of both of you.

That's great news Mr D. You and your lovely wife deserve a break, and hopefully will be able to hit the road in no time.

Having 68 staples removed doesn't sound like a very fun thing!

Hope all continues to go well for you two.

Been away from the forum for a few weeks Mr_D. I'm very pleased to learn your DW is finally able to move toward renewed good health! I first spoke with you over a year ago regarding her difficulties. It has been a long road for sure.

Wishing her speedy healing and increasing strength daily. It will be great to hear that you both are running at full speed, and getting that Magna out on the road!

Peace to the donor family, their loved one lives on. I have been signed up as a donor for decades, I encourage it. God bless you both.

W.D.
