I just received this from a good friend who recently moved to Minnesota. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

1. I came, I thawed, I transferred.
2. Survive Minnesota - the rest or the world is easy.
3. If you love Minnesota, raise your right ski.
4. Minnesota - where visitors turn blue with envy.
5. Save a Minnesotan - eat a mosquito.
6. One day it's warm - the rest of the year it's cold.
7. Minnesota - home of blonde hair and blue ears.
8. Minnesota - mosquito supplier to the free world.
9. Minnesota - come fall in love with a loon.
10. Land or many cultures - mostly throat.
11. Where the elite meet the sleet.
12. Minnesota: Closed for glacial repairs.
13. Land of two seasons: Winter is coming. Winter is here.
14. Minnesota - glove it or leave it.
15. Minnesota: have you jump started your kid today?
16. There are only three things you can grow in Minnesota - colder, older and fatter.
17. Many are cold, but few are frozen.
18. Why Minnesota? To protect Ontario from Iowa.
19. You are entering Minnesota - use alternate route.
20. Land of 10,000 Petersons.
21. Land of the ski and home of the crazed.
22. 10,000 lakes and no sharks.
23. In Minnesota, ducks don't fly south, people do.
24. Jack Frost must like Minnesota, he spends half of his life here.

I didn't add this note with the original post, but we've been there a couple times in the past 7 years and plan to visit again in the summer 2007. However, we've never been there during winter months... we have enough cold and deep snow in our mountain "hide-away" to keep us interested.

I was born and raised in Austin, MN, worked in Rochester, MN for 17.5 years before moving to Texas. I used to think -20 was nothing and went snowmobiling in that kind of weather. I can remember the winter before I moved to Texas it was -42 at night and -20 during the day. Never again and besides the state income tax would eat me alive.

Brian,

I may know the parents of some people at Valley. I left Mn in 72 for Calif. I did go to school with a Grafe and a Queensland. We all graduated HS in ther 50s.

It's the 30th of December and the frost is coming out of the ground here. The roads are turning to mush/mud. I had to put the truck in 4 wheel drive on our road. It's just like it was in 1891.

Historical data for Minnesota.
