Long long trailer

For those new to RV'ing and would like to see a movie of what not to do, the classic The Long Long Trailer with Lucille Ball is on TCM this evening. For those of us who can empathize with Dezi will enjoy it too.

Hi wildtoad

Thanks for the heads up, always a fun movie to watch!! The FMCA museum in Elkhart has a trailer that's close to the one in the movie.

Watch Ricky explaining the brakes to Lucy.. Yes, that is how it was back when I was in High School.. Then the Father of a young lady I really would have liked to take out on a date or many came out with the Prodigy line of Brake Controlers (and the ones preceding it) and suddenly brake control for the trailer was greatly simplified.

I believe they are talking about the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart. It is definitely worth a trip. RV/MH Hall of Fame - Museum - Library - Conference Center Is their website.

Several years ago we were headed to Yosemite from the West. Came up on a sign "turn your ac off" wondered what's that all about. Turns out, one hell of a climb, long and steep. We were in truckcamper and trailer so no problem but still one of the steepest climbs we've done. Started noticing the scenery looked vaguely familiar. Later in the park had lunch at the lodge and saw literature describing this as the road used in production of the Long Long Trailer.
