I stay away from major oil brands, (Chevron, Shell, Mobil, Texaco etc.) when buying gas. Independent stations are usually .15 to .20 cents less per gallon in California. ARCO is my preferred station when I can find them.

I hear you - I try to fill up at Costco, which is always the cheapest in town. Chevron is the most expensive 'round here.

ARCO is a major oil brand, it's part of BP - it doesn't get any bigger.

This time don't expect gas prices to go back down, the Feds quantitive easing plan already assures of that. Also expect food prices to rise.

"If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know," Obama said laughingly. "You might want to think about a trade-in."

-President Obama, April 7, 2011

Shoot, my Winnebago gets around 8 mpg. I suppose I could trade it for something that gets 40 mpg, but it aint gonna be an rv.

I've been to Cali and if I could avoid it, I would NEVER buy gas there. No camping, just visiting my son. Those people are nuts.

But the true travelers are they who leave for leaving’s sake
Saying continuously, without knowing why: ‘Let us go on’.

Yes, about 50 cents a gallon in extra sales tax. Not a fun place to RV anymore.

" Not a fun place to RV anymore. "

Come on now, I may be nuts but California is still way fun. You just have to steer clear of the Macadamians.
