Melamine Dishware

The DW had drug me all over town today. I lost track of all the stores we went to shopping for new dishware for the RV.

Looking at the Melamine dishes mostly.

We picked up some, but I think she still has other ideas. Is there any particular store or web site you might recommend?

Durable, light weight, quality dishware for RVer's.....

Target, William Sonoma and Crate and Barrel (for a price) had some nice looking stuff I saw this weekend.

We use Correl (sp?) Wear, it's worth a look? Durable and some very nice patterns etc;

Amazon.com has some. We also use Corelle dishes (at least when we aren't using paper plates. )

If you use the microwave a lot, make sure whatever you buy is MW safe. Some melamine is not.

I got a great deal last year on discontinued melamine at Gabriel Brothers. They had Pfalzgraf Taos originally from Kohls, but at a fraction of the cost. Very nice and sturdy melamine ware. It complemented the colors of the TT. Pfalzgraf melamine seems to be a step above the stuff from Big Lots etc.

X3 on the Corelle Wear. Love the choices, sizes, durability. But yes, we do use the dixie plates available in the warehouse stores in packs of 70, also.

Wish I had read this prior to a plate blowing in the MW. Thankfully the MW seemed un-phased, not so much for the plate which cracked into 5 pieces and some fumes that weren't too pleasing.

We are doing some NEW dishes that had a MW safe sticker on them ONLY.

Try the Outlet stores if you have some locally.

I use a set of stoneware I retired from the house. Stored standing, as in a dish rack, they ride safely, don't rattle and are perfectly durable under normal use. If I'm in a hurry, or feeling lazy, Chinet. LOL
