Memorial day will be here Monday, May 30 and I would love to see a bunch of flags out to honor all those that have given their lives for our freedom.
It is so easy to forget the brave men and women of all our services that have died to insure our freedoms until you go to Arlington National Cemetery and stand among the crosses that stretch as far as your eye can see and know that these men and women gave it all so that we might live in a country that is the envy of the world. Go to the Tomb of the Unknown or hear Taps played over a grave of a fallen warrior. These men and women made the ultimate sacrifice for us usually for less money than you can make at Mickey ''D's'' flippin burgers.
I will be standing on the overpass #126 on I-40 with the American Flag that was draped over my fathers casket. I will wave it proud to honor our troops and I hope you will find time to do the same.
Remember this .... FREEDOM AINT FREE. SOMEBODY DIED TO PRESERVE IT FOR US..
Nuff said for now....
God bless our troops and bring them home really soon ....

Every time we set up one of the first things I do is set up the flags. This is to not only honor our brave troops, but to also honor my Dad (WWII) vet.

The flag at my house has flown 24-7 for 20 years and yes, it has a light on it at night.

I so want to do something about the flags that are being flown unlit and are tattered on the lots around me. Anyone know the protocol for going on someone else's lot to dispose of the abused flags properly. I know it's trespassing, but it is still so wrong to dishonor our symbol of those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

The first and the last thing we do as a family is present the flag as soon as we arrive and the last thing we lower the flag before we head out. God bless American and all of those that keep us safe in our homes in this great land of ours. The troops Past, present and future on our soil and overseas!
If you can read this thank a teacher, if it's English thank a VET!!
