Mexican Dentist? Current recommendations, please

I am needing to have 28 dental crowns due to excessive teeth grinding. Over the last 20 years I have ground mine enough to compromise my bite and TMJ. It will take a full set of crowns to resolve my TMJ problem and restore my smile. In the USA that would cost $30-50K, way more than my budget would allow unless I want to do 2-3/year. That patient, I'm not.

I've read other's accounts of going to Mexico and consider that my best option. Thanks especially to wheelingit for her 2 part blog entry on the subject.

If you or someone you know can provide info on any Mexican based dentist, good or bad that is in a border community south of TX, NM or AZ please either post here, PM or email me. I can NOT go thru California due to their exotic animal laws.

I plan to go in May and October 2014 and April 2015 on my way to and from Seattle summers and wintering in Florida.

Thanks!

I can't recommend anyone as I haven't personally used their services. We met a lot of RV'ers in Yuma that were very happy with the dental service they received in Algodones. The RV Park we stayed in had bus services daily I believe.

Thanks for the info! Which RV park? I'll need one of those also. No Boondocking in May. Too hot, I'd guess.

progresso mexico

Pena Reyna dental in Neuvo Progresso is where my wife and I go. We use Dr. Hugo Garza there. We have both had our top and bottom teeth crowned and are very PLEASED with them. $200 per crown and that includes everything. Mouth guard is included when finished. If a person desires he can get the prep of your teeth one day and have the crowns on 3 or 4 days later. You won't be disapointed. Neuvo Progresso has a website and all sorts of info there. good luck , Brent

is where we stayed, I don't see any mention of bus service on the website.

We stayed at Snow-to-Sun RV Resort in Weslaco, Texas on International Blvd for years. This is about 8 miles north on the same road as Progresso Mexico.
Park on this side of the border and walk across the bridge. If you want to drive over the border, make sure your insurance covers you in Mexico, most don't. I had two teeth pulled in Texas for $356.00, and two pulled in Progresso for $40.00. Drugs are much, much cheaper, also. Eddie Elk.

I use Dr. Ramos in Los Algodones just outside of Yuma Az. You can park for free at the casino about one mile from the border. We walk across and to the dentist we have had good luck in the past 7 years.

Last month, January, I was extremely pleased with my $180 root canal at Castle Dental in Algadones MX. RV friends had referred me to Castle Dental as they had positive experiences there also.

click on reviews here
Castle Dental, Los Algodones, Mexico, 51 reviews. Book your appointment now!

Note........ yes you can park your RV for free at the casino a few miles from the border. The parking lot at the border is now 6 bucks a day for a car (more for RV). During peak tourist season, foot traffic lines at the border in the afternoon, to come back to USA can be over one hour long. A Passport is required to get back in the USA.

We haven't been to Progresso in 4 years. We always walked across the bridge. Is it still safe to cross over? We've heard lots of horror stories.

Thanks for the post.

Need some dental work and the prices these people are charging here in my area are out of line.

$550 for a dental cleaning. I think they are trying to clean my wallet.

I need a couple crowns and some crowns replaced. No price yet but I'm thinking it's going to be out of my budget.
