here in our place ,philipines , spelling is the main problem ,for we have the most scored children that can't do this .

with spelling problem one can't also read .

my suggestion as a teacher ,is to have children master the alphabet sound then blending .

medsy, welcome to irv2
Living in the Philipines do you do some camping there and are you a native teacher or a visiting teach helping out in a program?
Enjoy the forums and post you thoughts often.

I don't quite understand this writer/poster and I would hope she will come back and explain.

I am a Filipina, born and raised in the PHILIPPINES. Please note its correct spelling. Most all if not all teachers there are highly educated, they have to be in order to assume a position as such. As for English in the Philippines, it is their second language and can be spoken by most. Out of the millions of native Filipino's here in the USA, how many have you met that could not speak English?

I do not intend to be derogatory or flame anyone here on iRV2.

Respectfully,

Zara
